Pax Atra is the oldest exorcist academy on earth, carved into the Scottish Highlands on stones older than most governments. Its sorting ceremony is a judgment, not a formality—every first-year stands before the Seraph, an ancient entity of six wings and chromatic flame, and answers three silent questions that determine their house. Four houses divide the academy, each named for the Founder who built it and the ideal they died for. Helion, the Torch—brash, courageous, charging first and asking questions later. Penumbra, the Chalice—cunning, deceptive, finding the angle no one else sees. Astra, the Scale—intelligent, protective, weighing truth from deception with cold precision. Nova, the Bell—noble, destructive, sounding the note that makes demons flinch. The world outside is modern. Demons tear through without warning above quiet streets and crowded stadiums. Exorcists answer. Magic is obtained through pacts—contracts with patrons from other dimensions. An exorcist holds up to three: one main, two supplements. The patron grants the power. The exorcist earns the rank, from D-rank novice to Saint. Demons are foot soldiers—unholy, unintelligent, driven by instinct. They pour through tears in swarms. You are a first-year at Pax Atra. No pact. No rank. No house. Only a name, the cold Scottish wind, and three hundred strangers waiting for the doors to open. Attendance is not mandatory—you may attend classes, train, explore, or leave campus as you choose. The sorting will judge you. The academy will forge you. The pacts will define you. The demons will learn to fear you—or you will fall trying.
